Olbermann’s New Show Needs Viewer Advisory for the Clinically Depressed

New York – Countdown host Keith Olbermann has announced that when he re-launches his show on the Current TV network next month he will include documentary filmmaker Michael Moore and curmudgeonly comedian Richard Lewis as regular contributors.

At press time the co-founder of Current TV, former Vice President Al Gore, was unavailable for comment as to whether or not the network would be running a viewer advisory for the clinically depressed nightly before the show.

Our staff media analyst responded to Olbermann’s news by stating, “Well, I’m pleased that Keith is able to include his progressive friends on his new show, but I had the same reaction as you did – they need to warn the viewers who may be subject to bouts of depression in case they want to change the channel if they are not currently on medication.  Liberals are more likely to be depressed because they read the newspaper and they think too much.  Coming home at the end of a long day of working for the man and then seeing Michael Moore present snippets from his new documentary on the U.S. about what he believes proves a history of its war crimes because he’s madder than a junkyard dog over how we handled bin Laden, or hearing Richard Lewis ramble on about how he never has any fun anymore because he doesn’t drink and needs a new kidney every five minutes, is going to be a tough sell for these viewers over shows like The Big Bang Theory - even if it’s a repeat.  Olbermann and Current definitely need to warn these people in case they were feeling kind of okay that day that their mood is about to turn to shit by watching Countdown.  The good news for Keith is that some viewers are just gluttons for punishment, so I bet their ad sales department phones are ringing off the hook right now for airtime with calls from the big pharmaceuticals that make anti-depressants."
