Meet “Chickin’ Lowden!”

Nevada – Should your co-pay be Coq Au Vin?  According to Republican Senate candidate Sue Lowden, we should bring back the medical barter system, and she believes chickens would be the perfect payment for our doctors.  If only we had Sue in the Senate already, the health care debate probably wouldn’t have taken as long as it did!

On the campaign trail earlier this week and aimin’ to take down Senator Harry Reid, Lowden stated, “In the olden days, my grand-pappy would bring a chicken to the doctor for payment.  Or, he would say, ‘I’ll paint your house.’  Of course, now they have them Mexicans to do that.  So we probably should just stick with the chicken.”

Now the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has launched a website, Chickens for Check-ups, to ridicule Lowden’s old-fashioned suggestion.  Lowden is defending her stance though and insists it’s still worth bartering with your heath care provider.

Sources inside the medical community say offering chicken as payment may not be the best approach, as due to the launch of the new “KFC Double Down” and its likely effects on their patients, it may make the sight of the feathered foe a bitter pill to swallow.
