He’s Still Standin’ – Elton John Defies the Gods!

Mexico - “Clash of the Titans” may have been tops among Greek God cinematastrophes at the weekend box office, but Sir Elton John was taking on the Gods himself - Mayan Gods!

Shortly after defying the Christian God by insinuating his only son was a homosexual, despite Jesus having been a carpenter instead of an interior decorator, Elton John has now upset southeastern Mexican residents by playing an open-air concert in a holy place.  The pop legend performed at the foot of ancient Mayan pyramids of Chichen Itza, and did so without a permit from the Gods.  This lack of proper documentation caused the stage to collapse on last Thursday as a warning to Sir Elton that he should not perform in the sacred spot.  The accident was said to be the work of fairies, or “aluxes,” in the Mayan culture.  The flamboyant entertainer, being well acquainted with fairies, was not intimidated by the disruption.

Despite complaints from the local Mayan leaders that the concert was irreverent, John performed last Sunday with the pre-Hispanic Temple of Kukulkan as a backdrop.  Nearly 6,000 excited fans paid between $80 U.S. and $800 per ticket to see him in concert.  $80 For the nosebleed seats, and $800 to be up front to catch the temple falling on Sir Elton via their iPhone cameras in case the fairies tipped it over.
