Soapbox Alert: Gabby Giffords is Not Coming Back to Her Congressional Seat

Hi! I'm writing this article because I sense that some people think that Gabby Giffords has a chance to return to office. Here's the short story: Nope. No way. It's over. Forget about it. Just because she was photographed smiling is not proof that she has recovered. Far from it. The woman had a bullet rip through her brain and is undergoing intensive physical and mental therapy, with the hope being that she may someday be able to speak like a normal person. A congressperson job is one of the most stressful jobs in the world and cannot possibly be done by someone who will likely face physical and mental problems the rest of her life. What may be a more viable choice for the Giffords family, if they choose to do it, is for her husband Mark Kelly to take on her seat. After all, his career as an astronaut is basically over - he just went up on his last shuttle mission and will never see outer space again. Even if he has to run for office (as opposed to being appointed her replacement), he would likely win on the sympathy vote. That way her legacy could continue. If he wants to do it, the office is probably his. Oh, and by the way, even though nobody's saying it, Jared Loughner is a right-wing lunatic who was inspired by Fox News and the Republican party to commit murder.
