Los Angeles – The list of people being bumped from this Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony has begun to grow. First the producer of “The Hurt Locker” had been banned from the show entirely for openly soliciting votes via email, and now Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy sketch has been cut. Producers feared it would offend “Avatar” director James Cameron so much that he might possibly walk out of the telecast. Do they know something we don’t know? Are they finally going to go ahead and award Jim a “King of the World” honorary Oscar, so the Academy get back to honoring arty films as opposed to video games next year? And, if they wanted to play it safe, why didn't they just choose Billy Crystal?!? Those pointy ears would look eerily natural on that little jester. Baron Cohen’s sketch was written with an “Avatar” theme, and he was to play a female Na'vi, unable to speak English, with Ben Stiller as “her” translator. The Na'vi have a long tail where Bruno’s bare ass cheeks would be, so there would be no fear of seeing those. Too many opportunities for “Focker” jokes then? If Sacha did the sketch as his character Ali G, it probably wouldn’t even matter what he did, as we wouldn’t get it anyway. Just like how we don’t understand how people think Ben can be funny without him going “full retard.” Ah, well, we’ll just have to settle for the one gold-toned naked butt. If they really want a laugh riot roast of Cameron, somebody should dig up his ex-wife Linda Hamilton from under her rock for Sunday's telecast.
