In a surprising move, particularly on a show about “dancing” (last time we checked) singer Michael Bolton will be performing tonight (this time with his vocal chords) on Dancing With the Stars. The show’s host, Tom Bergeron, announced that Bolton would be replacing British songstress Susan Boyle who has taken ill.
A rep for Boyle told us, “Her doctor advised her not to sing due to a severe hairball she developed. Susan is very upset about letting down her fans.”
Judge Bruno Notalentioni famously dismissed Bolton and his dancing skills last week as "the worse-ah jive-ah in-ah eleven-ah seasons-ah." Bolton asked for an apology, but the likelihood of that happening is less than Dancing With the Stars having a contestant from this century on who starred in an actual star-making vehicle.
We wondered what little ditty Bolton might choose to croak out for his return to the reality show. A rep for for the singer told us, “He hasn’t officially decided yet, but I can assure you that his hit ‘How am I Supposed to Live Without You?’ was never under consideration. And he's still waiting for an official apology from Bruno, but Michael getting to watch him keep a straight face during his performance will probably suffice.”
