Golden Globe Swag Bags Borderline "Suck-tacular"

Los Angeles – As Hollywood prepares for their first awards show of their many awards shows in their season of self-congratulatory orgies of excess - we’ve come to find that even Tinseltown may be on a budget.

Our team here at Unsolicited Drivel managed to get a peek at one of the giveaway “swag bags” for the Golden Globes ceremony this Sunday, and well - let’s just say they ain’t what they used to be!

One Hollywood insider told us, “It’s not because Hollywood had their worst box office receipts since 2004 by assuming that movie audiences wanted to see every freaking film in 3-D.  No, you can blame Uncle Sam for the less than stellar swag, as stars have to pay taxes on these gifts now.  The days of bags filled with champagne, caviar and gold bullion are a thing of the past.  The bag itself is supposedly worth $550 but I even have to question that based upon the logo I saw.  True, the contents themselves really do suck.  I can only hope that the ceremony won’t suck as much as the bags do, but that will be entirely dependent upon whether or not host Ricky Gervais chooses to include any Mel Gibson jokes."
