White House Wood Not Hard Enough for Laura Ingraham

The annual White House Easter Egg Roll became just another excuse for Fox News to belittle the Obamas today and it hasn’t even taken place yet.

Appearing on Fox & (fair weather) Friends, radio host Laura Ingraham referred to the annual event, which has an environmentally friendly theme this year as, “green eggs and flimflam.”

She based this criticism on the Obama’s decision to feature eggs that were not carved from solid hardwood this year, but instead were made from sustainable particleboard.  She also took issue with the Obamas using the Easter Egg Roll for an opportunity to promote their “Let’s Move!” childhood anti-obesity exercise campaign, instead of allowing the children assembled on the south lawn have their nannies retrieve the eggs for them.  Plus, Ingraham pointed out that it was disrespectful to Jesus, as they didn’t name the campaign, “Let’s Rise!” Also, Fox and Friends wondered aloud why children couldn’t just have real eggs, as after all, food poisoning is soooooo last year.

Uh, we at Unsolicited Drivel believe that both Fox and the Obamas have the event ass-backwards.  The last time we checked, particleboard was manufactured with formaldehyde and we don’t relish the thought of toddlers inhaling that while gnawing on Easter eggs and seeing their career choices when they grow up.  And unlike Fox, we also believe that Jesus would never take issue with any chance to highlight an opportunity for his followers to move their lazy asses.  There are only so many miracles one guy can accomplish you know.  When reached for comment about  Laura Ingraham's remarks, the spirit of Dr. Suess told us that he considered the entire Fox News operation to be about nothing more than "Greenbacks and Sham."
