Palin Didn’t Help “30 Rock” From Failin’

New York - The only female writer working in comedy that gets any attention whatsoever today, Tina Fey, has admitted that her dead-on Sarah Palin impersonation did nothing to help her “30 Rock” sitcom.

While promoting her new book, "Bossypants," Fey told USA Today, "Some may argue that exploiting Governor Palin and her family helped bring attention to my low-rated TV show.   I am proud to say you are wrong.”

An insider at the show told us, “Tina’s right, you know.  We thought her Palin impression would bring new viewers to the show when it didn’t find an audience, but it really didn't help.  It’s been tough being critical darlings when viewers don’t tune in despite ’30 Rock’ centering around a fictional show with skits that no one ever gets to see; it having writers that look like their B.O. should deserve its own zip code; stars that include a narcissistic dumb blonde and a black comic who acts like the Forrest Gump of Flatbush; a conservative, corporate fat cat executive producer; a hillbilly/philosopher page and a dorky, nearly asexual creator.  I mean, what’s not to love?  But the ratings still aren’t stellar.  Fortunately, thanks to Steve Carrell leaving ‘The Office,’ and the current NBC suits having no eye for real talent, our little show about a show that didn’t deserve a first season just got renewed for a sixth season.”

It's also not funny.

I find the show way more amusing than anything else on network tv. Office jumped the shark (and went back again) many times since 30 Rock debuted.
