Ratings Obsessed Media Whores Ignore Huge Anti-War Rally in Favor of Cursing Crazies

Washington, DC – As a small number of protesters gathered on Capitol Hill yesterday, a HUGE protest was going on against an unnecessary war and a forgotten war, but one would never know it to check the news.   A rowdy crowd of Tea Partiers received roughly TONS more attention protesting health care reform than those marking the 7th anniversary of the war to settle a personal score that made the possibility of universal health care a fiscal nightmare for all.    Unfortunately, the media’s ignoring war protests is nothing new.  Just ask anyone who protested the previous unnecessary war in Viet Nam who wasn’t Jane Fonda, or John Kerry sitting behind Jane Fonda at an anti-war rally as unearthed in photos by Swift Boaters.  Speaking on condition of anonymity, one producer from a cable TV outlet offered this, “you’re just not going to draw the audience in with peace signs and singing “Kumbaya.”  But small movement of crackpots holding up signs protesting political principles they couldn’t even define* if their lives depended on it, spitting on congressmen, and calling a civil rights hero like Rep. John Lewis a n&##!r, or calling Rep. Barney Frank a f@%%*t, that’s ratings gold people!  Hell, we couldn’t even write that shit if were doing a sitcom instead reporting on current events.  Thank goodness they don’t read the news, so they can keep making news.”

*Not a single tenet without Wikipedia, that is.  And, why would we want a system that puts people before profits?  We so silly!
