Desperate Claims From Wronged Housewife?

Los Angeles – Former Desperate Housewives star, Nicollette Sheridan, has filed suit for wrongful termination and assault against the show’s creator, Marc Cherry.

The actress, who played vixen Edie Britt, is alleging that Cherry smacked her in the face on set and then plotted to have her fired by killing off her character after she complained to ABC. It was a little tough for the actress to find representation to address her complaint, with most of the lawyers in L.A. being tied up representing victims of sex addicts, but she finally found one to take her case.

According to the lawsuit filed on Monday, Sheridan insists that Cherry created a hostile work environment from day one, and behaved very rudely toward her, sometimes making her feel as degraded as if she had been caught wearing a pair of last season’s shoes. Sheridan alleges in her suit that there was a incident in 2008 when Cherry hit her in the face after she questioned the script, perhaps asking something like, “how come every single line my character utters is riddled with sexual innuendo and/or implies I’m going to whore myself out to steal a frenemy’s man?” The actress’ contract and character were both terminated in 2009.

When reached for comment, an ABC spokesperson said, “We have yet to see her official complaint, but we have investigated her claims in the past and cannot prove they have merit. It would be impossible to tell if Ms. Sheridan had been hit in the face with the amount of Botox needed to sustain her look of a wax figurine, as any abuse would not likely leave a mark. This would be problematic with most of the actresses on the set. Hell, Teri Hatcher’s face probably hasn’t moved since Lois and Clark.”
