It’s Soapbox Monday!

Sorry, folks, but I’m getting a very late start on my research on news today, and a concerned reader pointed out this lunacy to me.  This site is the opposite of clever.  I wanted to share it with you, and add a few thoughts. 

The beauty of Facebook is that it is an open forum not only to catch up with friends, but also for ideas.  Ideas that are not typically squelched – that is, unless they are about Glenn Beck and a poodle in a tin foil hat.  It’s not supposed to be a place to spread venom and when a person puts up a site like this without giving it much thought in terms of it being based on REALITY, it becomes just that – poison.  

Between my experience with the Tea Party, and now seeing this type of ignorant dreck on this Facebook page, I continue to be amazed at how many Americans probably don’t know a single tenet of socialism.  (And, if I had told those Tea Partiers how huge my tax refund was since Obama took over, every single one of them would have crapped their Depends.)

There are many different facets of the evil socialism to consider, but I’m going to boil it down to one key point for you:

SOCIALISTS FUCKING HATE CAPITALI$M!!!!  AND COMMIES DO TOO! 

That being said, if you are a U.$. citizen with concerns about your government leaning too far to the left, the money angle is your ace in the hole that ensures we are not turning into Mother Russia, so you can now breathe a $igh of relief.  Why do you think there was no public option that us po' people wants in da heath care bill?  Because our government is still beholden to big business (pharma & insurance, etc., etc., etc.) and probably always will be.  We are the richest country in the world because we love us some money, and our politicians are at the head of the line with their palms stretched out.  It’s as simple as that. 

Know your facts. Facts DO NOT come from Fox News.  The most accurate information comes from news sources that are not beholden to advertisers or megalomaniac billionaires.  I know for many of you, I’m preaching to the choir.  So, if that is the case for you, I encourage you to become a fan of this Facebook page and totally fuck with these peoples’ heads.  Your good grammar alone should throw them for a loop.  I know I have one reader who is not going to be at all pleased with them taking Patrick Swayze’s name in vain.  MISSPELLED IN VAIN, YOU DIP-SHIT!!!
