Mickey Rourke Has No Respect For You

That is, if you are one of his fellow actors. It’s nothing personal, but he’s pretty sure if you’ve worked with him recently, you are overrated.

After his “comeback” role playing himself in the Wrestler last year, Rourke has a major part in the first summer blockbuster, “Iron Man 2: Same Movie/Twice the Budget.”

Rourke has gone from on top of Kim Basinger to the bottom of the entertainment industry, to on top of a plastic surgeon’s table after being on the bottom of a boxing ring.  Now he’s back to the top in the movie biz, but it seems his intent is to go back to the bottom due to his outspokenness and/or his very likely being a bottom feeder.

In an article in an upcoming entertainment magazine, he said, "I'd just as soon mail my performance in for a big-budget movie as an independent one. I don’t even read the script and I can blow the other actors off the screen just by showing up if it’s a big budget film because they hire mediocre actors.  In independent arty-farty films, having decent actors is the only way to get the audience to show up.  If I do a blockbuster instead, not only do I get cappuccino on set instead Taster’s Choice made with hot tap water, but the whole time they think I’m totally into character, I’m just thinking about my pet Chihuahuas – who by the way, do a much more convincing job of emoting that most of the actor’s I’ve worked with lately.”

Is it just me, or does he look like Arnold Schwarzenneger at the end of The Terminator, after he had his face scraped on a sidewalk and shot up 20 times. I'm just sayin.
