What Part of National Tragedy Does She Not Understand?

Kansas City – As an oil slick of historic proportions was engulfing the Gulf of Mexico this weekend leaving clean up crews scrambling, and livelihoods hanging by a thread, Sarah Palin, or “Shrill-Baby Shrill,” as she’s known in our house, was standing firm on her platform in her Jimmy Choos and advocating off-shore drilling. After partying with ‘ole battle ax Fred Thompson and the rest of the murderers of the English language at a Tea Party last Saturday, Palin later made a speech (to pay for her “Troopergate” legal bills) to a crowd on behalf of the "Preserving American Liberty,” fringe group.

Her 30-minute speech was reportedly filled with plenty of religious references and “we gottas.”  (As opposed to the worst case scenario of her having actually made it to the Vice President's office, as her speech would by now no doubt have been filled with “shoulda, coulda, wouldas.”)   She said,  “We’ve got to tap domestically because energy security will be the key to our prosperity,” believing the only way to be "truly free" was to wean our country from dependence on foreign oil.  Oh, and that mess in the Gulf was a real tragedy…you betcha!

One critic of the half-term governor noted, “you would think she would want to protect wildlife from being suffocated in an oil slick.  How is she going to kill it on camera if it’s already dead?”
