Awareness Ribbon Designers Already Freaking Over Chile Ribbon for the Oscars
Shortly after a devastating earthquake in Chile early this morning, ribbon awareness designers in the U.S. coast to coast already had their panties in a bunch over who would get to design the Chile Awareness ribbon for next Sunday’s Academy Awards. Chileans living near the epicenter were reported to be extremely shaken by the quake, but not nearly as shaken as some celebrities were because they had yet to hear from self-appointed spokesperson for ALL disaster relief charity efforts - George Clooney. Maybe the dashing do-gooder is still sleeping? So, the mad scramble begins as designers rush to the garment district in NYC to find the perfect trimmings to show compassion on TV at the Oscars. It will be tough, as no one has leaked out any information on which designers hosts Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin have chosen to dress them. There is much speculation that many celebrities will pay homage to the untimely passing of flamboyant designer Alexander McQueen. At press time and with that in mind, we are speculating that the front-runner for the Chile ribbon will be this design pictured above by soon to be former Olympian and budding fashion maven, Johnny Weir.
