Los Angeles – CBS Television has announced that it plans to replace the soap “As the World Turns” (or as one former intern we know referred to it: “As the Turd Whirls”) with their own daily panel talk show estrogen fest in the style of ABC’s “The View.”
The show will star Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete, and Leah Remini as co-hosts and will focus on topical events through the eyes of moms, including but not limited to: pretending to be worrying about mom stuff while a person hosts almost every show on CBS as she is married to the media mogul who heads the network and can afford to buy a small Slavic country full of au pairs; moms who deal with drug addiction among surly teenagers, frou-frou dogs and child-like spouses, moms who raise bored vegan kids in a same sex parent households, moms who successfully deal with the challenges of raising autistic children and ignoring sexist favoritism amongst blowhard reality TV hosts, and moms offering formerly secret Scientology child rearing tips. And they’ll also probably talk about celebrity train wrecks too(who are NOT Scientologists).
The untitled series, which will debut in October, supposedly beat out others in contention including Chef Emeril Lagasse’s “Gulf Coast Cooking - Now with Extra Crude,” and a new version of the game show “Pryamid” hosted by Andy Richter’s ring around the collar.
