Lap Dances on Your Dime?

Okay, NOW it makes sense how the Ehrlich/Steele administration was able to damn near bankrupt the state of Maryland after only one term in Annapolis.  Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has come under fire for spending donor dough like he never had heard the word, “recession.”  In addition to $17,000 on private jets, $13,000 on limousines, $9,000 for hotels, it has also come to light that $2,000 was spent by the RNC for a fundraiser at a voyeuristic strip club. A staffer, Erik Brown, treated young Republican donors to an evening at a Los Angeles strip club, which included women acting out scenes from the movie “Eyes Wide Shut” under the guise of installation art. Brown claims he will reimburse the GOP, but many critics are already calling for Michael Steele’s resignation.  A spokesperson offered, “this was not an RNC sanctioned event.  Everyone knows we like to keep our sexual idiosyncrasies in the closet, where they belong.”  As inappropriate as these spending sprees may seem during these trying economic times, there are still many in the Republican Party who insist that you have to spend money to make money. This sentiment comes as a bitter pill for cash strapped donors to swallow, but it still may not be as much of a disappointment compared to losing two hours of their lives if they had the misfortune to actually have sat through  “Eyes Wide Shut.”

This story just gets more and more fun!
