People Magazine is reporting exclusively that Bullock has adopted a baby boy, Louis, and soon as she dumps her excess baggage (covered with more scales than a designer alligator suitcase), she’s going raise the little boy as a single mother.

We asked a pal who told us, “of course, in keeping with the image of the ‘girl next door,’ she wasn’t go to fly off and rent an entire obscure African country just to get privacy like Angelina Jolie did in Namibia. She thought about adopting a Mexican baby as a show of support for George Lopez, but paparazzi would be looking for her in Texas as she has a home there, and we all know that crossing the border in Arizona would be out of the question. So, New Orleans seemed like the perfect place to go about her business unnoticed. It certainly worked for the people in the 9th ward after Katrina.”
