Recovery Complete: Slim Shady Sales Soar

New York – Eminem’s new release Recovery has had the biggest sales debut of the year, and the best debut since AC/DC’s Black Ice in 2008.

The rapper’s new album sold 741,000 copies in its first week of release, making Recovery much more popular than his previous release,  Relapse.

We asked one record company executive about the success at Interscope, Eminem’s label, and he told us, "Recovery has gotten much better reviews than Relapse.  Except in the opinion of Lindsay Lohan, of course. Even with the great reviews, reaching new audiences is always a real plus, and Eminem’s going public with his approval of gay marriage could have boosted sales.  You know how he now believes that everyone is entitled to as be miserable as everyone else?  Then again, you can’t hum any of the tunes, so scratch that idea.  It’s probably just marketing.
