Washington, DC - He’s good enough, he’s smart enough, and gosh darn it – that’s why the GOP hates him*. It’s true. Senator Al Franken (D. MN) was caught yesterday using his God given power of reason and inflaming his critics yet AGAIN.
He explained to a crowd that the conservative criticism about plans to build a mosque, that NEVER EVEN WAS A MOSQUE (or "masque" if you watch Fox News), close to Ground Zero was "one of the most disgraceful things that I've heard." He clarified for them, “It’s a community center. They’re going to have a gym. They’re going to have point guards. Muslim point guards.”(Or, "Muslin" and ditto the Fox News reference.)
We spoke to one GOP strategist (you know, our insider - Rarl Kove) who told us, “We’re getting close to November and we don’t have a Lewinsky or Whitewater in sight. It’s pretty damn infuriating how Franken has a nasty habit of merely speaking the truth after we’ve gone to all the trouble to put our spin on issues. And the young people are likely to listen to him as he’s a former funny man and many of them get their news from The Daily Show. That’s why we’re putting up a Facebook fan page to petition Saturday Night Live to hire Newt Gingrich to host their season opener.”
*No wonder Franken beat Norm Coleman.

Did Coleman play that big-faced kid with the disease who did in that movie with Cher as his mom?
