David Hasselhoff once promised American TV viewers that he would always be there for them, but maybe he should have only promised his German fans, as A&E has already pulled the plug on his reality show.
The Hasselhoffs attracted only 718,000 viewers in its first airing, dropping to just 505,000 after the second show.
Critics were extremely unkind. Rex Rantz, of Hollywood Weakly, even went so far to state of the show, “Given the limits of its star’s talents, reality TV was his only option. Although if people want to see reality video of David Hasselhoff, their time would be better spent on Youtube, watching the infamous hamburger mangling video. Nobody manhandles a burger better. I'd love to see what he could do with French Fries. But there was clearly a script for this so-called ‘reality’ show, which made it impossible for David to give a believable performance. Mr. Hasselhoff should perhaps stick to what he does best: being upstaged by a talking car, or a pair fake, unbouncing breasts.”
When reached for comment on the Rantz review, Hasselhoff slurred, “Danke schoen!”

He will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Seriously, he can't afford a Hamburger. Help a guy out.
