John Barry, my all-time favorite movie music composer, has passed away at 77. Most people know him as the man behind the James Bond theme, but he also composed so many other movie favorites. The soundtrack from "Out of Africa" is one of the few compositions that I can actually turn my brain off while listening to. Such a great catalog of work. A wonderful sampling can be found on the "Moviola" collections. I decided to remember him today with the very melancholy theme from "Midnight Cowboy," as these down and out characters are (sadly) even more relatable today. A true giant in composing, John Barry will be sorely missed.

I will not miss him as I was often compared to him unfavorably. And rightly so, because I suck! But now people will not realize it so much and I will make $$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!
