Ed Harris Insists He Can Be Creepy Enough to Play John McCain

Los Angeles - Actor/director Ed Harris has been announced as the star in HBO’s “Game Change,” playing the role of John McCain opposite Julianne Moore as Sarah (Evita) Palin.

“Game Change” will certainly be a chance for both of these A-list actors to stretch their skills, but some skeptics still wonder if multiple Oscar nominee Harris can actually be creepy enough to play the role of the oldest, grumpiest* man to ever run for President of the United States?

Unsolicited Drivel
spoke with one Hollywood casting agent about “Game Change” and the project’s two leads.  He told us, “You’re right.  It will be a challenge for both actors.  Even Julianne’s drug-addled porn star in ‘Boogie Nights’ was still highbrow in the intellect department compared to Palin.  It’s true Ed can play a hero as he did with John Glenn in ‘The Right Stuff’ and he definitely can play an asshole, see: ‘Pollack.’  There’s a lot they can do with make-up too, and if he eats curry regularly, he can mimic those cracked corn teeth.  I have heard from his people that he’s very committed to the role and getting into the character 110%.  So I suppose the true test of his performance then will be whether he can master talking out both sides of his mouth.  I smell Emmy!”

*No, it wasn't Bob Dole as it turns out.

Should be an easy role for Harris, all he needs to do to get in character is keep saying "Hey you kids get off my lawn!" over and over. I think they should have gotten Palin to play Palin, she's the only one dumb enough to pull it off. Julianne Moore sounds more intelligent than Palin when she farts.
