While holding up a dress before the White House Correspondents' dinner, Simpson told People Magazine, “She’s such an incredible woman and she’s with a really powerful man. And by powerful, I don’t mean based on the number of Twitter followers he has reading his narc...uh, narcissi...uh, self-centered ramblings. Everything Michelle does just exudes confidence and I kinda would like to someday try that attitude on for size.”
Simpson was among the many celebrities who oddly, are invited to the dinner every year. Her desire to emulate the First Lady, while flattering, may have been a tad bit naïve, however. Michelle Obama has championed proper eating with her White House vegetable garden project and it would probably alarm Jessica to learn that a corn dog is not a vegetable. Also, being the hostess of numerous state dinners throughout the year, the First Lady is responsible for brushing her teeth AT LEAST twice a day and the Secret Service is even known to have checked her toothbrush to make sure it is wet.
