We’re not sure why the conversation would ever come up in the first place, but Mick Jagger has recently rejected the notion that drugs had a negative impact on the Rolling Stones. He even went on to say that the band wrote some of their best music “under the influence.” Really?
The lead singer of the iconic group insists their “party atmosphere” inspired much of their music. He said, “In that period, it was very fashionable to take enough drugs so we could always be guaranteed to see at least a unicorn and a rainbow in the recording studio. Keith would even occasionally mistake Charlie for a Cyclops and try to steal one of his drumsticks to poke out his eye. Particularly during the time we were recording of ‘Exile on Mainstreet.’ We sure did a lot of good tracks back then. Of course, you don’t get the same inspiration from Viagra.”
This assessment comes as no surprise to one frustrated fan. She complained, “No shit. I haven’t liked an album of theirs since “Undercover,” and I was a hardcore fan. I even stayed with some asshole I was dating much longer than I should have because he looked like a Rolling Stone, and had seen them in concert 27 times. This makes a lot of sense. I guess it also explains why ‘Saturday Night Live’ hasn’t been funny since the 70s.”
