BP has just ordered 32 more of actor/director Kevin Costner’s oil removing centrifuges to clean up the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico after a trial run. Costner has spent $20 million of his own money and 15 years developing the device with his scientist brother through his manufacturing company, Ocean Therapy Solutions.
A BP spokesperson told us, “I’m really happy to say we just ordered 32 more Mr. Costner’s machines. This is real technology with scientific tests to back it up. Besides, eventually the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster™ is going to get the Hollywood treatment. We figure Costner could do much more good for America by producing these machines than directing and starring in the way over budget blockbuster movie version to come as the angry Louisiana shrimper going up against Michael Sheen’s Tony Hayward. Or even worse, what if he got any bright ideas about Waterworld II?”
