He's Not Good Enough, He's Not Smart Enough, and Nobody Likes Him

Washington, DC - Dog gone it!  Times are tough on the Senate floor.  Bipartisanship is a word that is tossed around more than the vegetables in Caesar salad, but there's been little of it in recent politicking, as bill after bill stalls due to the Republican minority filibustering every bill the Democrats propose. It got so heated that noted former funnyman Al Franken, who usually defuses angry situations with humor, got mad, rolling his eyes and making faces as Mitch McConnell, the Senate Minority leader, explained his reasons for not supporting lukewarm non-offensive potential lesbian Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan (who was confirmed anyway). Franken ended up apologizing when McConnell took offense at his (Franken's) objectionable behavior, after he (McConnell) said to him (Franken) "Just because I'm being an ass doesn't mean you can call me one, braaaaay!" Franken's apology came only minutes before McConnell literally had to be taken out of the room, with a hiccoughing fit that quickly turned became embarrassing, (transcript: "hiccup, hiccup, hee-haw, hee-haw").
