Los Angeles – From the long dresses complete with trains that an inebriated* Keifer Sutherland could trip over, to the shortest of the short frocks that would enable the world to be a girl’s gynecologist (see: Heidi Klum), the fashion on red carpet at the 2010 Emmy Awards drew inspiration from whatever is supposedly popular this time. But it was Glee’s Lea Michele that was dubbed the belle of the boring-as-hell ball.
Once fashionistas burned out on all of their (yearly) talk about the Emmy stars celebrating a “return to old Hollywood glamour” this year (surprise!), they began to debate the color of Michele’s dress. Was it midnight blue? Was it blue-violet? Was it Navy? Was it Air Force? Was it a punch in the eye bruise blue? The debate continues and will continue well into the end of this week and beyond when they should REALLY should all be debating about what prompted January Jones to dress like a COBALT blue mermaid. (Maybe it was so Jason Sudeikis would lose interest in trying to bang her?)
Personally, our favorite stars wore off the rack – of their own closets – including Betty White and Maggie Griffin, who told reporters that her designer was “J.C. Penniet.”
*Allegedly.
